Oak Valley

Oak Valley is a small community situated 96km south of Alice Springs established by Robert and Mary Le Rossignol.  Mary’s father Jack Kenny was a proud Aranda man who successfully fought for his traditional lands, settling his family at Walkabout Bore.  With the help of their family, Mary and Robert later built Oak Valley where they raised their six children and established one of the Territory’s few commercial Olive groves.

The Deepening Histories partnership commenced with the Le Rossignol family in 2013, and resulted in the production of several short films covering topics including oral history, traditional knowledge, family history, and archaeology.  It is with the kind permission of the Le Rossignol family that the following films are shown on this website.
